Escape OSR FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

Can I take my cell phone into the room?
We do allow you to take your cell phone into the room in case you need to receive an emergency call, however, photography and video inside the room is STRICTLY prohibited. If you are caught taking photo or video in our room, your play will be ended immediately. Photos of your group may be taken in the escape room lobby.
Are we actually locked in the room?

No. For the purposes of the game, you are “locked” in a room and you need to find a way to unlock the door in order to escape. However, the doors that are clearly marked with red “Exit” signs remain unlocked and you can leave at any time.

How long are the games?

The games are 60 minutes long with a few minutes before your game for the rules/introduction. We recommend you arrive 15 minutes in advance to get checked in.

What happens if we’re running late?

If you’re running late, the time you have available to solve the puzzle will be shortened. We strongly recommend arriving 15 minutes prior to your start time so we can give you the rules ahead of time and get you into your room at your exact start time. We have other time slots scheduled after yours and we’ll need to maintain our daily schedule. If you are playing with other groups, the room may start without you. No refunds will be issued if you are unable to complete the room due to being late.

Are there age restrictions?
Yes. All players must be at least 8 years of age. We do recommend ages 13+ due to the difficulty of the rooms and the content.
How much does it cost?
$35 per person. A self-guided tour of the historic Ohio State Reformatory is included in the $35 per person cost. You may take your self-guided tour on the same day either before or after your escape room time.
What is your refund policy?

We do not offer refunds. We are happy to work with you to reschedule your date, as long as you let us know at least 24 hours in advance that you will be unable to attend. There are no refunds if the number of players is reduced from when you signed up to when you arrive to play.

How many people does the room accommodate?
Our rooms will accommodate 6-8 guests, depending on which room you choose, but you do not need to fill the room to play. Games played with only 2 people are less likely to be solved.
What if we have more guests in our group than your room maximums?
You will need to purchase tickets for two different rooms or two different times. We do not allow more than our published maximum number of guests in each room/run.
Do we have to play with strangers?
Maybe? We will book 6-8 people in a room, depending on which room you choose, for every time slot. You may be the only people to sign up, or others may sign up too. If your group is smaller than the room maximum, you will need to “buy out” all 6 or 8 tickets to guarantee a private experience.
Can we book Escape OSR for a company event/retreat?
